different types of IDE
I desparately need a bigger hard drive so I looked up IDE HDDs on newegg.com (because my mobo sucks and doesn't have sata) and saw 2 different types of IDE drives: IDE ULTRA ATA100 and IDE ULTRA ATA133. Which one would work with my crappy old computer?

to expand on what bicostp said, either hard drive should work. even if your computer doesn't support ata133, the drive should still work, it will just work at a slower speed that your computer can handle. I don't know how old your computer is, but one thing to keep in mind is that depending on how old your mobo is, it may not support larger hard drives. Generally speaking, upgrading your bios should fix that, however.
