Your preference. I say it should have been included because the value added far outweighs the potential manufacturing costs.

Do you have proof of that?

I first read it on a Wii forum. You can stumble upon confirmation on modchip sites, and you can extrapolate it from the Wikipedia entry:

Even though software will be used to enable DVD-Video functionality, it apparently "requires more than a firmware upgrade" and cannot therefore be implemented through the WiiConnect24 network.

That being said, I suppose I can't be 100% certain, but I'm pretty close to it.

BTW- I was wrong about the Wii and GC discs spinning backwards. They spin in the same direction as any optical disc, but they read from the outside of the disc towards the middle.

Your video was very basic, which would have been fine if not for the biased information. I'm not sure if the video was meant to be biased or not. If it was meant to be factual, such comments as "bad design" and "sleek sexy design" do not belong, as they are your opinions on the matter- or perhaps other people's opinions on the matter.

Aside from that, I think your video needs a little more visual flare. Instead of having words from the foreground scroll across the background, you could have any number of related images of either console in the background.

Just to note guys it would push the price of the wii up putting dvd in it's not the manufacturing its having to pay whoever it is to be able to view dvd disc's

I can't remember who has to be payed for the dvd to be used but this was mentioned when nintendo said they would bring out a wii that reads dvd discs later on if people really wanted to pay the extra money for it

To nintendo it wasn't worth the money when can get a dvd player for $40

I thought Sony said they removed the rumble because it would interfere with sixaxis? cough*

Personally I don't hate the PS3. My brother owns one so I get to play it when I go home from college. I just think its way over engineered (7 cell processors!?) for a gaming system/electronic gizmo. Plus the graphics to me are not impressive for the price you pay for the system.

Exactly. I heard they were talking about dual releasing MGS4 on PS3 and Xbox 360. If they do, Sony will be in some real trouble... and I'll have a reason to buy a 360 (besides Guitar Hero (w00t for downloadable songs!))... and no reason to buy a PS3. *shrugs* Think about it guys... do you think the GC would have been half as successful as it was (which given, wasn't very... comparatively) if it weren't for SSBM? That's all I play on GC anymore!

Well, then again, think about it... The best looking games come out at the end of a console's life. *points to FFXII and God of War II* It only makes sense though. The longer a console is out, the more time developers have to familiarize themselves with the hardware and take advantage of it to the fullest extent. So, in about four years or so, we'll probably have PS3 games with graphics that will DESTROY the 360's graphics, for instance; the PS3 is plain and simply a more powerful system and thus has more potential. That said, I'm not really a graphics person... and I'll still be getting a Wii before either of the other two.

Exactly (Super Mario Bros VS Super Mario Bros 3) but right "now" the graphics are not impressive on the PS3 yet. Problem is that the PS3 Cell processor system is overly engineered and from what I have heard developers are having a tuff time with it.

True, true. Yet another reason to just WAIT 2 years or so to buy a new console. By that time, it's dropped in price several times, it's been revised a few times and thus doesn't have exploding power supplies, and there are better games for it.

They are releasing an online mii channel where you can vote for mii's. As for the video and music channel, well you can go on youtube (just wait for the upgrade of opera next month, it has better resolution and zooming.)

Wii is getting better just wait.

What's all this about MGS being Sony exclusive? 2 and 3 both had Xbox versions released, and although they were released later, they contained bonus features. I'd assume they'll do the same with 4 (unless you've heard differently for certain).

MGS was released as MGS:TS on GC remember, cool game.

Guitar Hero 2 = ownage. I mean it has a Lamb Of God song on, so it's gotta be good. Machine Head for GH3 though

(preferably Imperium or something)
