My Metroid Wii-Cannon

Post by Kurt_ »

I will make one. Does anyone have pictures of the inside of a wiimote? More specifically, pictures of possible soldering locations for tacts for the buttons, or possible chopping locations.

From the E3 demo, I'm getting the controls from the on-screen instructions. I'm not sure how many buttons there are, since I don't have a Wii yet, but will have the controls up soon. I'm not sure if these are still the controls or anything. But it's what I see onscreen.

EDIT: Thar ye go!

Directly from the video:

Z: scans

D-pad: Any switches to scan visor.

A: Interacts with objects.

Cast Nunchuck: Grapple obejcts/Steal objects from enemies

Control Stick: Pull when grappled.

C: Morph Ball

A: Drop Bombs

B: Jump

I'm assuming the following:

Control Stick: Moves/Strafes

I know, but they're dead, and this will be my progress thread in the near future.

It's just barely on the first page still... :P

Anyway, this might help.

Just a question... does it matter which direction the accelerometer is orientated in the wiimote?

I would think so... I could be wrong, but I would try to mount it the same way if I were you.

Edit: Here too. The ones I'm finding are probably the best you're gonna get. Unless someone here with a Wii is willing to take some higher res ones.

You're awesome. So the Wiimotes have copper, not carbon contacts that can be soldered to, but it doesn't look like chopping the boards apart would be too smart of an idea.
