I know the NES uses 5v input but I was wondering if a NOAC can take 4 unregulated 1.5v batteries as its input? 4 fully charged batteries would equal 6-7v, supposedly too much voltage, and fry the CPU. And what happens when the voltage goes just under 5v? Will 1.2v rechargeables work? Am I to assume the NOAC regulates the voltage elsewhere on the board? I'd really hate to have to use a huge 7.2v battery with a 7805

heh yeah that happened to me, I used the battery pack from the NOAC for my NESp, but the batteries kept popping loose. It was really annoying when I was testing, so I said screw it, I'll buy a proper 4xAA battery pack
I've got 2 FOACs that run on just 4.5V. It doesn't really take 5v to trigger TTL logic necessarily; you could probably make it with just a little over 3v.
