Virtual boy questions?

Post by kevin »

I was wondering since i love the virtual boy and its great games(all 17 or what ever) if it was possible to make it more comfortable to play. Is it possible to make the system actually somewhat portable? I was thinking make it lighter and make it so i could put it on my head without a stand? I havent had a chance to open mine yet because the bit i have wont fit down the holes. Is this at all possible?

Hmm...

It'd be difficult, but it could definitley be done, IMO. I'm sure there's extra heatsinks/metal shielding, etc. in the VB case that could be taken out. Are you considering making a brand new case? That would be so cool! :D

Someone on the intertubes created this adjustable stand-thing out of an old lamp & some springs. You can probably find it w/ just a little googling.

Hey, maybe do a little bit of vacuum forming using a mold of your face to make a virtual boy custom fit for you!

I'll bet as soon as you're able to get it open you can figure out a way to repackage it so that it's lighter/more comfortable/more portable. Rig it up with a car power adapter and you're good to go for trips! I have to warn you though, if I see you riding in the passenger seat while playing that thing, I'll have to point and laugh

by comfortable did you mean on the eyes?

If so just take the Bulbs outta the Screen and replace them with LEds, these should be less bright and won't so bad, also, why not just take the guts and get a Surpluss Army helmet to attach them, then have a drop down for the eye piece, you could balance it out with the batteries on the back, and a bonus, you get to have a neck like the Govna of California!

That sounds like a good idea. as soon as i get the bit i might try something like that. I haven't found to much info on how the virtual boy works so i will have to work on that.
Thanks for the idea's
