dots on screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

dots on screen

Post by shmagoogin77 »

I am seeing dots in the middle of the screen
i think it is form the glass light thing thats in the light box
i did the led mod
and jumped the capacitor on the back of the screen to treick the screen inot making it brighter
which is awesome :D
is there any way to prevent the dots on the glass from shining through?
i think i heard of putting some tin foil in the light box to help it but i dont remember where to put it inside the light box
please help

Well, they could use more description and some punctuation. You have a total of ONE punctuation mark in that post.

Some pictures of the screen would be very helpful.

You can't really see it in any pictures so the dots aren't that noticeable. I'll just leave it. Isn't there some where to put tin foil in the light box though to make a better lit screen? Turbo told me about it along time ago in a PM but I don't have it anymore.

@Kurt- how's that for punctuation and grammar

Are these dots dead pixels?

Or are the spots something with the glass in the box? If that's the case, clean it :P. But if you want to put tin foil in there anyways (good idea for an LED modded screen), you put it under the glass thing.

And you punctuation was amazing. I'm crying I'm so proud of you!

I'm almost positive it is the glass so I'm going to reopen the light box and clean and place some tin foil in there
thanks Kurt :D :D

edit: Found out that I had the glass turned the wrong way. There's a side with dots and then there's a smooth side. Now i got it on the smooth side and I out tin foil and with the jumping of the capacitor on the back of the screen the brightness of the screen is perfect. I suggest that if you do the LED mod you jump the cap and you put tin foil behind the glass. It helps it a ton :D :D
