Did I destroy my Psone?

Hey Everyone.

For the last few weeks I have been checking out Ben's website and watching the forums. Recently I decided to make a psone portable, so I ordered the psone, screen, battery, ect

Well, they came a few days ago and I started to take everything apart.

To make a (somewhat) long story short, I think I may have connected the + battery tab (or whatever you call the piece of metal that you stick into the battery) into the - battery hole accidentally. It started to smoke and I turned it off immediately

. Then I tried to connect the battery tabs the correct way , and it didn't turn on. If that wasn't the problem, I also was connecting the composite video plugs into the psone, and the screen was not plugged in.

Here are the exact things I used:

Mini psone (worked once of battery)
Intec GC screen
Modified AC adapters (for both the screen and console)
Infolithium F750 (fully charged 7.4v 4200mAh)

I would really appreciate if anyone can tell me wether it is salvageable or if I have to buy a new PSone.

Sounds like you reversed the polarity. Did the smoke come fromthe battery or from the motherboard?

the smoke was from the motherboard

Right. You have well and truly fried. You could replace what you fried, but it is hard, and very complicated. Easier just to buy a new PSone, and keep this one for seeing if it fits in the case without risking damaging the working psone.
