Is this video real?
OK, this video was brought up on another forum I frequent:
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/193270/sq ... e_thrower/
I'm pretty convinced this is a fake from the way it was shot (the flash that occurs every time it is fired obscures the nozzle most of the time, there are at least two stops in the film, it doesn't look like there is anything in the tank, and the camera almost always follows the flame instead of staying on the super soaker. Warning the URL that appears in the video even leads to pr0n site), but one member says he has actually seen it done, so:
A. Do you think this stunt is possible at all?
B. Is this video real?
(BTW I don't mind admitting I was wrong, I just get a funny feeling about this clip that I can't shake)

If oxygen managed to get into the tank, wouldn't the oxygen and the gas set alight and explode?
yeah if the flame got into the bottle and there was enough o2 inside to cause an explosion yeah. its not likely though. more likely if the bottles fuel caught, it would melt the bottle and spill flaming gas all over you. the danger in this isnt really in the item itself but the stuff you light on fire with it...

Explosions require the right mix of fuel and air. They also generally need a source of ignition. Air simply getting into the tank won't make the super soaker explode. It will explode, however, if the flame can burn fast enough to go up the fuel line and to the tank when the mixture is right (not too rich, not too lean). That would be bad.Unidentified Assilant wrote:If oxygen managed to get into the tank, wouldn't the oxygen and the gas set alight and explode?

take it from someone who has been making homemade whepons for years take the idea of a super-soker and make it of metal use a metal bike pump to pressurize the tank fill it with a mixture of gasoline and styrofoam and you can set stuff on fire a lot and the fire sticks to stuff and burns it ,,,,,actually don't do that I remember a very bad time for me for doing that and setting my yard on fire (almost burned down the house) so don't listen to me its a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea all around
