Help!
I just bid on an Atari 2600 on eBay, and realized that it does not come with a power cord, plus, Ben's book is missing right now. So, how do I go about making it run off batteries, or make a replacement cord?

I think the stock power adapter is 9v AC, and it's a normal headphone-style jack.
All the answers are in the sticky, you know.

Okay, so I won the auction. Now, I need your opinion on if I should make it portable or not. This would mean that I could only play the games on my portable. However, since the atari does not come with a power supply, I couldn't really play it without buying one. It would cost more to buy a screen than a power supply, though. Well, what do you guys think?

If you have the money, you have the time, and you have the talent (i.e. experience with soldering iron) then go for it!Okay, so I won the auction. Besides, if you do make it portable, just mount a few rca jacks on the side of the case, wire up a "screen override circuit" (or just a switch), if you want, keep a controller jack or two and vwalla! You've just made the (possibly) first console/portable '2600 hybrid.
