Battery Wiring

I belive that basic electronics states that to increase voltage you hook a battery's positive to anothers negative

and in the end of the chain you end up with the outputs. To increse amprage you hook + to + and - to - I think. Will this blow up

a Lithium battery and do I need a protection circuit or anything and if this is not the way then how would I do this?

Unless you want your hands melted into your portable, you need protection circuits on lithium batteries.

How would I make a circuit to do this or where could I buy one to do this. I am good with electronics but I am not so greay on my knowledge of batteries. How would I make a circuit to do this?

Hey, thanks but this still doesn't answer my first question. Could I use one of these on each pack and then hook them both together as described above or would I need a different kind of PCM
