Myspace may be full of emos but as others have mentioned there are normal people on there

I dont really like the social side of Myspace but there is one thing its good for

Its an invaluable tool for Local Bands and Musicians as it gives a free way for people to have a listen to what you sound like and such. These days if theres some bands on at a gig that i dont know i put them into myspace to and 9 times out of 10 they have a site so i can see if they're worth going to see cos i mean i dont wanna waste money seeing screamo bands

i have instant messaging to keep in touch with friends
No, think about it. If socializing sites like MySpace didn't exist, we'd be paying (whether by actual payment or by advertisement) more for stuff like image & video hosting, as there'd be no competition & therefore no need to lower the advertising or raise the standards.

File hosting hasn't cought up to it yet, but we ALL know what it's like to download something from rapidshare & similar file hosting sites. Pretty soon that neucance should go away as well.
your logic makes no sence, myspace is a social networking website not a file hosting site, i use imageshack for my image hosting, its free and has very few ads, it doesnt cost money to put videos on youtube or any number of other sites so your argument is bunk. yes rapidshare cost money for premium but there are about a billion alternatives including making your own freaking server (not hard at all)

You don't even need a dedicated server, just make it a torrent and seed it from your computer, it'll take about as long for you to upload it to a friend as it would to a site, and then you both can seed it.
Make a freewebs site if you want a website, and instant message your friends.

This includes image & video hosting sites like photobucket, imageshack & YouTube. Even Google Video! (yes, there are text based ads on Google video)

If normal people didn't have MySpace, which is extremely easy to sign up for, they'd be using image hosting sites to transfer their photos of family, friends, etc. Face it, the average email account has an attachment limit of ~5MB, so emailing more than 2 images is out of the question these days, where high definition cameras create images around 2.5MB in size.

Therefore, if image hosting wasn't in obvious surplus, they'd have to use image hosting sites, which would have no need to lower their amount of advertisement.

have you LOOKED AT MYSPACE! copulate if there arent more ads on that piece of crap that imageshack photobucket youtube and google video combined(exageration but you get the point), those little ads on the aformentioned sites help keep the copulate service FREE. myspace sucks and nothing you can say will convince me otherwise especially with weak arguments like that

I personally don't care how many ads a site has, just as long as they aren't flashy or take control over my computer (thats why Google's ads are my favorite). And thats when I'm stuck using IE (which is almost never), 90% of ads and pop ups are eliminated by my Firefox setup, so I literally forget how many ads there really are.

im with VB on this one, YOU DONT MAKE ANY SENSE! myspace is FIRST AND FOREMOST a SOCIAL NETWORKING website. imageshack and photobucket are IMAGE HOSTING websites and DO NOT DIRECTLY COMPETE WITH MYSPACE BECUASE THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS COMPLETLY do i make myself clear? because you sure as hell dont
