Intec/hipgear screen pad 6v.

I have an intec screen pad. I heard you can run these with as little as 6v or higher. How do I do this. Does it require any mods?

edit: btw. I AM using the adjust board.

All you need to do is remove the 7808. Then wire accordingly:

cool. I heard something about doing a led mod since it get's dimmer?
and isn't the 8 volts for the audio amp. will it stil work?

dont remove the 7808
you can put 6v through the regular power lines and it still works
the led mod will make it much brighter because the CCFL gives out at 5.5v or something like that

well actually putting in 5v sounds attracting. So I can remove it jump it. input 5 volts and expect it to work properly right? (if led mod applied)

Why not? Its useless if your only putting 4v into it...

That I dont know. Im still trying to get audio to work on my pNES.

yes. I did it to my hipgear and its Id say its worth it.

Yes thats exactly what i did on my pNES and i got a good 4.5 hours with 4 2400mah AA's (screen and NOAC)

Nice then I can just jump it and connect 5v power from my uber leet volt regulator. (switching)

The 7808 is used for the audio amp, so you will need to find another way of getting audio, as the Hip Gear speakers will not work if you only use 6V. You can just plug this into the red cable on the adjust board. The grey cable next to it is ground. I havn't done an LED mod on the screen yet, but I may well do, as the CCFL drains the batteries like mad.

Goddammit! I fried my screen. (switched polaritys by accident, the most noobish mistake ever) my dad felt sorry for me though so im getting a new one.

stil pretty depressed though. This time ill hook it to the snes bridge rectifier
