Wiimote help

Post by khaag »

OK, I'm installing an LED in my wiimote, and i was wondering, If I solder to the two battery terminal contacts for the led leads, will they always be on? Also, will I short anything out by using these two points?

no, you wouldn't be shorting anything, but you would need a switch or alternate source of power to prevent it from staying on

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

I see that your mod will be for the wiimote. Are you going to do the Nunchuck LED mod also? Is it going to be blue like the disk drive?

I'd attach to the point that applies power to the ext port. I'm fairly sure that only applies power when the wiimote is active/connected to a powered on wii.

You can connect power to the two test points on the bottom side of the controller board. They output 3.2V
