GOD OF WAR TUES-DAY!!!!

Post by benheck »

Ug! I planned to spend all day playing God of War 2, but apparently it won't be on the shelf until this afternoon! That's lame! Now I'll have to play it all night instead.

But regardless, here is a place to talk about this new release which has been getting really good reviews, unlike Wii games (Oh I went there!) Also it's cool that Sony allowed a new game to be played on the old system it was designed for upon release, but as a bonus it runs on 720p should you play it on the new system.

Also I guess a script was written for a God of War movie, and since "300" made a lot of dough this weekend it's a good bet they'll be considering GOW for a green-light. (Especially since it would blow 300 out of the water) That's how Hollywood works, remember how the flood of superhero movies happened after Spider-Man broke records?

We'll discuss this crap more during our sure-to-be-slightly-late video podcast - stay tuned!

Or should today be dubbed "Kratos Day" instead?

I'll probably be playing Crackdown and Lost Planet (just can't get enough of the multiplayer on this one) tonight.

Remind me the next time I'm over to borrow your copy of the original God of War, so I can finally look on it with my own eyes.

If they make a movie the inevitable sequel would undoubtedly have to be "Kratos Begins". Hollywood just can't get enough of the "Begins" genre these days.

Well apparently it's God of War-ensday, since no place had it stock but Gamestop who only sold it to pre-orders (Must have been because of chip smashers)

So I guess I'll get it tomorrow. Jones, ever notice when we hinge a podcast topic on getting something at launch, it bites us in the ass?

I am definitely beginning to notice a pattern there. Good thing I didn't pick GRAW 2 for the game I wanted to talk about. LOL

Oh by the way. Today is not Kratos Day. Today is TMNT:Arcade day!!! When I get home the first thing I'm doing is downloading this. It's only a $5 download too! That pales in comparison to the mountains of quarters I poured into it in my youth. You will have to come over sometime and get in on the action!

Must suck for a friend of mine. He sold off his controllers, games and the whole PS2. He loved the first God of War, he's even got two posters for the second on his door. He must be itching to get his hands on a PS2 and the $50 to buy it, or $5 to rent it.

I played the first a little watched it more. Well it looks like a great game, its the kind that is just one I can't get used to. The combat engine will impressive and unique, I just couldn't get used to it, simply to different for me.

YES! TMNT game! Yeah, $5 would have been the average single session for me on that. What a game!

Maybe I'll have better God of War Luck today, but I'm only gonna bother to try once this afternoon.

Pretty cool how it can be run in HD for PS3. I was gonna play God of War 1 if my mates copy decided to run on my PS2.

OK I got it, and GOW2 kicks major ass. If you have a PS2 (and are allowed to play M rated games / over 18) then you should be required by law to go buy it.

I did a video commentary of Stage 1, which will be part of the Video Podcast.

I find it amusing how we have to keep the strategy guides behind the counter (instead of along the front, as per usual). The guide has lots of digital...oh, wait, this is a PG13 forum, isn't it.

To celebrate the availability of GoW II we had red, white, and black balloons all over the store with GoW II written on them. The look on some people's faces when they ask if we have GoW and the answer is yes :)

That's when you throw a PS3 at them, throw the money down and run out the door. What are they going to say? "He paid for it. But didn't have a pre-order!"
