That wastes power if you want to power something like a laptop or game system, it makes it 120v AC and then the power adapter for what you're using converts in back down to less than 20v DC.
It says it adds 12 hours of playing time to the PSP, but for about $10 you can make a supply out of 4 rechargeable AAs that should add about the same amount of playing time.
For portable, low voltage DC power, just use NiMH's or Lithium polymer or ions.

I prefer NiMH RC car batteries (can be found in the 2000 - 3300 mAh range for around $20, give or take)
I also like imitation Sony Infolithium L batteries found on eBay. They're listed as "replacement" batteries, but they work the same and are the same dimensions. Plus they're a heck of a lot cheaper than name brand.
