ok, im trying to burn linux to a CD-R. im using Sonic RecordNow! i put the file onto it, but there is an option that says click here to make this CD/DVD bootable. do i want to do that?

You don't put the file onto the disc. You have to burn the ISO as an image. (Look it up on Google.)

i kno i dont put it on the disc, you burn it. im using Sonic Record Now! to burn it. but i want to kno if i should do the "make bootable" option.

What is on the disc right now, like when you check it in My Computer? If there are multiple files, it should be fine. If the iso itself is on, thats bad. iso's are kind of like zips, they get extracted to the CD (sorta).

well, im using puppy linux distro. and i dloaded Infra Recorder, which is recommended for Ubuntu install. so it should work.

EDIT: im burning it a 4x, the max was 48x. is that a good speed?

Just let it burn at whatever speed it's going.
High speeds can make problems sometimes...
Letting it go at whatever speed on its own is best.

If you really wanna be safe, use Active ISO burner. It's freeware, and it's as simple as it gets; just select the file, speed, and click burn. Good luck!

well, im happy to say i got it to run. on my pent3 with a little less than 1gig ram, its kinda slow.. and very cpu intensive if im reading the monitor right
