Is the SNES a good first portable to make?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Go for it, just don't do anything stupid. Mind you SNES's can take much more abuse than N64s.

It took me 4, but I had no experience with electronics other than soldering AA's to 1.5V motors with a 100-W soldering gun. (Gun, not iron).

2 died to trying to relocate it. I never had non-conductive flux though...
Hey, sup?

I've put a couple of SNES's through a heck of a lot and am yet to have one die on me. They're pretty tough suckers as far as electronics go.

YYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! it is excellent, even though I killed three, I had no experience with this, It was better than starting on a N64! you can do something harder once you get all the basics down when making an easier portable. and you have all the resources when making a harder one.
