Buying a portable tv(for its purpose, not a portable)

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

SATTELITE?! You're gonna get the local channels, at best (antenna). Plus most of those things only have 3-3.5" screens. I bought a 5" B+W TV for 10 dollars a couple years ago; it does what I need it to. (Though I miss color... should get a USB tuner for my laptop... *checks prices*)

You could always hack something together out of an old VCR motherboard and a PSone screen... The unit will be big but at least it will be cable ready.

I assume it will cost around 100 dollars, give or take.

I have one of these.

It's in excellent condition with the TV, Ac adapter and remote. The only thing missing is the stand.

Make me an offer via PM if you want it.

bic he couldget satellite if he has one of those domes that covers the dish that some really corny people put on top of their RVs

They are like gynormous though, very impratical, unless Shocky has some sort of super secret he wishes to spill!

I was thinking of getting one of those 3.5 inch ones at radioshack.

But, How much to build a ptv?

It doesn't matter what you hook up to it, you're not getting sattelite on one of those things without an external decoder box. (Most of those things aren't even cable ready...)

well a 3.5" screen cost $100 from AEI but i dont know which screen you want and then the RF link wireless video things cost $120 for the transmitter and receiver so i guess $220
but i would suggest using the psone screen cause tv on a 3" screen kinda sucks

Well the one I have above has Rca inputs. So it would be quite easy to put cable/satellite into it.

I meant antennas and dishes on the antenna port, not external hardware like sattelite boxes or VCRs. Sorry, I should've been more specific.
