whyd you post pics of an n64?

we've all seen one. just like that other guy who posted pics of his progress on his genesisp and it was just opened up lol. but yeah i totally agree with shockslayer hold up til summer i started everything but then decided what with schooling i dont have enough time

Noo, don't get a desolderng iron. Get a desoldering pump. They are much better for these reasons:
You don't have to wait for them to heat up,
You cannot burn yourself on them,
They are cheaper,
They will not brake so easily,
It is 1 less wire to tangle around your neck (believe me, it's happened

). And some other reasons I cannot think of at the moment. Also for this project, have you taken into account how much this is going to cost you? Allow for at least 1 broken screen and 3 broken n64s. Then 2 broken controllers.

For your list you need bondo as well. Look in the Case forum for more info on bondo. Are you sure you don't have a soldering iron anywhere? Most houses have one on a box in the attic or something.

I myself prefer desoldering irons over pumps/bulbs, especially when it comes to ICs

Sorry, but that is the reality. I am also 13 and working on a portable. I started off very very bad though. I am doing an easier portable though... I've broken 4 psones (i'm on my fifth now) and 2 screens. It's cost me $600 (Â£300) so far, but I am almost there...

Get a desoldering iron, they're WAY better than pumps....a pump requires a soldering iron, so it's like a desoldering iron, only harder to suck up the solder

No they arn't. Have you ever used a pump? Also, they don't require heating up, so it's unlike a desoldering iron. You don't have to sand the tip, you cannot burn yourselves on them. E.t.c

thanx guys i got a test game (007 goldenye) and a proper controller.
it was actually pretty scary when i tried the game, the screen and audio didnts show up but its fine now (few)
next step is to get the batterys.
