Hey everybody. I've got some progress done, but I need to find two files. I've searched everywhere, but i thought maybe one of you guys would have the files i need.

I need:

Win32 Type Library v 0.2 (win32.tlb)
DirectX Type Library v 0.6 (directX.tlb)

Notice the versions (v0.2 and v0.6) I need tose exact versions.

Thanks :)

Thanks Skyone, I'll test them after school

EDIT: The DirectX one is wrong. It's DirectX6 and not DirectX v0.6

You don't want those type libraries. The DX6.0 library is by Patrice Scribe, famous for interface VB with older versions of DirectX. However, DX7 and 8 have built-in VB support.

You also shouldn't need the Win32 type library for using the Windows API. Google around, you'll find a much easier way.

I gave up trying to play that demo of someone's game, anyway, If EntertheHatrix is reading this, I want to ask you something.

Would you be interested in Fusing Projects together so we could speed up the process. I will AIM you later. Hope to hear from you.

Oh, crap. Nevermind then. As an update anyway, I completely redid the code to use no directX crap seeing as it was causing to much problems.
Done:

EDIT: Refer to First Post for Status and Screenshots

The Name of the game is a WIP

Comments? Suggestions? The only thing making me worried about this game down the road is a battle system. I'm still thinking of ways to make that work. I can do Final Fantasy easily (We did a basic one battle FF Style Battle Sys. In Class) but Overworld seems a bit tough....

Yes, but I gave up on the DirectX version and just made a new version without using bitblt or DirectX (And no ugly animation or movement!)

EDIT: Does anyone know code for VB 6 (As in not VB.NET) to find the Folder that the Compiled version of the Project (Zelda.exe) is located in? This could save me time.

Yeah, I asked my teacher for the code, and it works now. Anyway, I updated the first post with more goodies. Anyone know how i should go about making a battle system? I'm thinking IF the user presses "Z" and his image touches the monsters image, then the monster takes damage, but if the user does not press "Z" and his image touches the monsters image, the user takes damage. Then I'd put If Health <= 0 Then etc. etc. Let me know if theres a better way to go about this.

That's basically the only way to do it. :P However, make it so the sword's collision with an enemy and "z" is down, the enemy takes damage. Better collision, less glitches, of course.

So if you want to not get hurt, just tape down "z". :P
How about you make it so you and whatever your attacking can miss each other? Then as your level increases, so does your accuracy. And the monsters get more accurate as you progress.
I still see it being too easy, being able to hold "z" down all the time and be invincible. Maybe let the sword be in "attack position" for only a short amount of time.
