Super Joy III woes!

I'm going crazy I think I just broke my Super joy III. I was trying to desodder the cartridge connector and I scratched a couple of the leads on the board itself! Then to make it worse the ribbon cable came off and I don't know if I soddered it back on the right way. Then I'm not sure if I got that red wire in the right spot. Can someone help me?

Also, is it possible to hook up a normal NES controller?

As long as the traces arent broken or shorting with somethin, you should be fine.

You shouldnt need the ribbon cable, since there are pinouts for the SJ3.

The red wire does not need to be connected.

And yes it is possible to hook up a NES controller as long as you connect the data, latch, clock, etc. correctly

Hey I've blasted through two SuperJoy III's and I consider myself a competent person at this type of stuff. I'll make a NOAC portable one of these days... if I don't manage to kill another one

I managed to fry a Noac too, a retrocon unit. I can't seem to find any more retrocons on the 'net anymore now.

Oh well, if all else fails you can try and get another one, but you might still be able to use the one you have now. If not- live and learn.
