Hey, I have ran N64's off batterys before but none exactly like this. Your plan looks simpler than what I have done in the past. What is that chip with the capacitor on it in the diagram.
Thanks for your quick reply and now thanks to your and everyone elses help I am going to start on my new project the SS64 Yes I know what you are thinking and know it does not mean that. It means Super Small 64 bit gaming system.I left out the N from the name because it would of been to long.
If anyone has made a system by this name please let me know so I can start thinking of a new name for my project before I get it done and any labels printed.
Hello, I have just been to TI's website and they have 5 different models of this product. Here is the link I found them at http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/p ... 8000w.html. I would like to know what type I need of if it even matters. I have everything else I need or I have it on it's way.
Well 2 you need to pay for the samples. That leaves 3. I don't think that it matters too much, but you should learn to read data sheets on your own and find out. In the data sheet it will tell you the differences.

The 3 that you can get for free, WAH, WAS, and WAZ, have these differences
WAH has a different package drawing. This isn't too important.
The MSL peak temp is not avaiable for WAH, Level 1 235C-UNLIM for WAS, and Level 3 260C-168 HR for WAZ. Don't ask me what these mean, look them up on TI.

Thanks for your help and I did read the data sheets the first time I was there. I did see the differences but I didn't really know which would be preferable to someone building an N64p
