is this a thread about your snes or your screen now? your snes will not work without the black thing if you are using the wall adapter

and your screen, are you sure you have the right polarity?

sorry for being offtopic I got my tv to work after soldering the dc jack back on for some reason it doesnt work unattached.

In the forum below I was having trouble with my audio/video input being just static. Now I am just getting a black screen.

Connect your grounds!!! SNES ground (any silver ring around the screw holes, a a specified ground spot) to your screen's ground.
