Some Ideas.....Please Read

This is just an idea.....so here it goes--

After reading the last post on Ben Hecks front page, I saw that he is serious about building the pinball machine and the single handed controllers. At that point I felt that someone, with better web-design skills, and reputation for honesty (ebay, forum trading w/e) should put together a web page that would take paypal donations to help support Ben, or whoever can, build single handed controllers for the wounded. Also, donations for ben to build the pinball machine for himself. Also, I figured that once the controllers were made from donations, the controllers could be donated to soldiers, or any amputee, but mainly soldiers who can prove their amputation. I dunno, I just thought that this would be a good idea, and hell, Id donate to the cause, when I get some money of course.

let me know what you all think...again this is just an idea, and someone could have already posted something like this, but i didnt take the time to look for it.

That sounds like a great idea. I was thinking the other day about people building and selling portables for charities.

I think it would be pretty easy to prove that.

Sounds like a great idea! I'd totally donate as long as it was managed by someone I trusted (like maybe Ben himself?

I wonder how many former Xbox360 players think their gaming days are over. More prolific advertising would probably put smiles on a great many faces.

With proper advertising (like an article in a magazine, or an ad in a newspaper here and there), Ben could potentially be swamped with requests. We would need a way of selecting a few among many to receive the controllers.

Placing ads in local newspapers could be a method of donating in of itself. I'm sure an ad placed in my local paper would get attention- I live on a Marine base twice the size of Texas, after all

I was thinking of when the site was done and ready, or even before, trying and getting it on the front page of Digg and Engadget, and whatever big blogs people could think of.

That way instead of just having us forum members and the moderators donation we could get a whole heck of a lot of people across the states and even other contries donating. Sweet Idea!

If you get a decent and reliable website up and running our local Chicago news (FOX=BLEH!!*insert vommiting smiley*) has a 15-20 minute segment where they display and talk about cool, entertaining, and charitable websites, so if its ever up and running we might get a bunch of people in Chi Town and the numerous suburbs around it to see the site and familiarize itself with who Ben Heckendorn is and what he does.

WoW! People actually are liking this idea...I thought it would be shot down--and I appreciate being proven wrong. Anyways, I emailed Ben, and am hoping for a response...hopefully he to likes the idea and responds.

Sorry if I missed your email. I think it's a good idea, not for the pinball machine, but for the single-handed controllers.

I'm once again thinking about *somehow* doing it myself and could use all the help (and money) I can get!

Wheren't you featured on the MSDN? You can probably sell or exclusively license scematics or something to microSoft...
