Where do you get your Supplies?

Post by Jongamer »

So where do you get your supplies? an Over priced Radioshack? or a Local Buisness.

This is where I get my Electronics, http://www.midwestsurplus.net/en-us/toc.html its a local buisness, and If I even have a chance, there is a Place in a city Near me, called Mendleson's Has 3 Football field sized floors with almost nothing but Electronic Conponents, any part ya need you can probably get it here, I almost got lost on the 3rd floor this place is so friggin big, but this place is a old Warehouse, and the Elevator doesnt look to good either, its an Old Industral Elevator that has no air conditioning. This place is the best, you can literally build any type of Electronic with the parts in this place.

Junkyard...you'd be surprised what you can find there! (my entire stereo system is scrap special--and it can peev the neighbors down the block at night! )

Halted FTW!!! Uber-cheap overstock, new, and even used electronics!

It's funny how the price for a high power white LED (They're not cheap!) drops by $8 (Out of $10) or more when it has had one of its leads cut shorter!

EPO (Electrical Parts Outlet) Local Store in Houston. It has pretty much everything you need to build portables.

Digi-key.com is pretty good for hard to find parts.

Batteryspace.com is a good spot to buy batteries.

Two dollars for one white LED? Wtf? Look around on ebay...

I go to EPO (Electronics Parts Outlet), they have everything I need there at very good prices. A 15" LCD is usually $50, you can get old laptops for nothing, and on top of everything they have almost every component under the sun, you just gotta know where to look.

EDIT: Whoah Rekarp, what a coincidence... 8)

hell, whenever I need a part, I go to radio shack. its fast, efficient, expensive, and a low selection.

it may be expensive and not much to choose from, but it keeps the majority of the parts on the table.

you have prolly got one in your neighborhood.

otherwise, for parts like white leds and tatc switches, go online.
