Windows XP stuck on Boot Screen

I don't see any of my accounts on that computer at all...that can't be good.

Ok, for some reason, Windows is now being gay and is just stuck at the boot screen. The bar keeps on going and going, but it doesnt do anything. I heard that on my XP CD i can go in Recovery console and fix stuff. Well, what do I do in it?

PS: I'd like to solve this problem without completly wiping the Hard drive, i have important files still on this compy. I'm also doing a CHKDSK for now (running from CD)

use some software called Winternals

Doesnt that need to be run from inside Windows? Which i can't do. Is there any other software that i can use?
