Solder Strike DS (working title)

Post by siegeshot »

Yea the name needs work. :( Anyway this's the whole plot and stuff for Ben's DS soldering game.

The plot could be first you go to school working on boards (for a practice mission) and then you work on a ship (medium difficulty), and it takes off with you in it or something into space. And then you gotta keep fixing the circuit boards over and over so you all can land safely (difficult). But then you land, and wake up, and you had accidently fallen asleep working on a board, but didn't get it fixed.

Because you didn't get it fixed, the shields are down, and aliens board! And they abduct you then you have to fix theirs because their ship is broken too! But their circuit boards are all alien and so you have to figure out all new skills on the fly.

There could be short timed missions (like 5 second mini games rapid fire) and like 1 minute ones, and 5 minute ones, and then like 1 hour long ones, where you have to stop working on it for a while and go do other boards around the ship...

Anyway. Sorry. It would just be an amazing game. Kind of like the life of Scotty on the old Enterprise or something.... The Captain is always like barking crap at you over the intercom. WE NEED THOSE ENGINES BACK ONLINE NOW!!!!

Oh man it'd be sweet.

Ok bye!

Glad you all like the idea BUT...

The title I had in mind was "Circuit Breaker" and I believe the gag was the circuit are still running but somehow you have super-fast speed (kind of like an episode of the old Star Trek where Kirk gets adubted by aliens that move so fast people can't see them) thus you have to fix things BEFORE electrical currents get to them, ie, you "see" the electricity running in the lines.

Interesting idea, but doesn't electricity technically move instantly? I could be dead wrong, but I thought I remember my electronics teacher mentioning that.

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

At the speed of light, actually.

Since you are in space..... and in the future, maybe you could just have a machine with you that slows down time in your specific area enough for you to whip it out?

kinda like Trama Center cept with electronics? Sounds cool. If you need any models of circuit boards or what not i can whip some up.

Exactly what I was thinking of, I would definitely buy a soldering game. Or maybe we could make one in flash or something for a little joke. We could have the higher the voltage the faster the electricty moves (Does this apply to real life, More volts or more amps that effect the ammount of electrons?) so you have a to quickly place a regualtor in there to slow it down.

Or perhaps it could show you a board filled with components and you have to build something with them that is specified in a pre-game brief. Then after the time is up it sends the electricity and you can see if it works or not. Bonus points for using the least ammount of solder/wire/components/heat output. Just some ideas.
Meh... So I don't post much?

Yes much like pipe dreams. And yes, electricity moves at the speed of light, so sure, um, you can move faster in the game!

Maybe you can put down gates, diodes, etc, to control how it flows, ie, to split it up, stop it, etc. Could be interesting an educational.

Needs some anime people to tell you how you're doing along the way. Have people done DS homebrew?

Well, actually they don't....they travel incredibly fast, but not the speed of light. It is possible to get them to near the speed of light, though.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

I heard electrons move at the speed of molasses. But when you put a current though a circuit, they bump each other making a chain reaction.
Hey, sup?

Well your character would move at NEAR the speed of electricity, because if you moved AS FAST the electricity wouldn't seem to move at all. Or something.

Is this just going to be the next Grand Theft Portable?

I don't see how that is possible. For one, they spin around the nucleus so fast they look like a solid sphere. Not counting that fact, its like a relay race, you don't have members of the team walking at 3MPH and having the average speed be 15MPH. You can prove that with common sense!
