GC problems

Ok my GC has been having some audio Problems, certain pitches in sounds are nothing but static, but most music sounds fine, but mostly beeps and the GC start-up are all Staic, and now I have a bigger problem, so far only 2 games will boot on my Gamecube, Phanatsy Star Online 1+2, and Need for speed underground, games like Twilight princess will spin the disc and read it perfectly, then the Laser will go to the Very edge of the Disc, then it will have no progress loading the Game, it will just sit there at a black screen, I've already tried adjusting the POT but no luck, I am in the process of trying to fina my other GC optical drive and seeing if that works but until then can anyone help me?

Running off wall adapter or batteries?

Have you done any soldering work on it?

like i said i fixed the sound befor by jumping 12v to a pin on the mobo, and it fixed my sound, but since i hot glued the jumped wire and unbridged a couple pins on the chip used for the Gameboy player its been acting funky.

so yes i did a solder job to it, and its running off the wall power.
