How would i become a videogame tester?

Post by xxxeagle »

I want to become a beta tester for videogames you know Play them before they are released and tell the company what I think of them that would be a great job you get paid to play videogames before everyone else can. I know it will probably be hard but does anyone know of any places where I can sign up.

#1 You don't get paid
#2 My friend DemonKiller Beta tested Crash and Burn racing
#3 Beta testing is only online
#4 I registered as a potential tested at www.playstation.com
#5 They Have To Ask You!
#6 They asked me though :D
#7 Not every company Beta tests though

#1 I got invited by Square-Enix to a closed beta test of Final Fantasy 11 before it was even announced to the public :D (Sorry, I have to brag about that at every opportunity)
#2 It isn't simply a matter of telling them whether a game is fun or not. You must understand how the game works, be able to force the game to crash, and have an idea on how the problem was caused.
#3 Everyone wants to be a beta tester, it is one of the most wanted jobs in the industry, because not many people understand what it's really all about.

When games are approaching release, some companies announce that they will be starting Beta tests, and put up an application on their website. They usually ask about how much you play games, what games you've Beta-tested before, and what your system specs are, among other things. Also, some companies do all in-house testing, with nothing available to the public.
I've been fortunate to be a part of the Warcraft III: TFT Beta, the Everquest Mac Beta, and the World of Warcraft Beta Stresstest.

Nah I dont have an atari I might get one though. I would like to beta test for PS2 and Xbox hopefully maybe even computer (my computer sucks). I want to test games for activision and EA. But most people who test have to live near the game companies and i dont live near new york or california so Its hard to find stuff testing. I want to do the in home testing probably maybe I can sign up for that.

xxxeagle - I meant the company Atari, not the system!

EDIT: Oh, and you can beta test Microsoft products (possibly including games) at https://beta.microsoft.com/

No. They have a group of employees called "The Mario Club" who test each of their games (and third party games) before they are released.
Quigoni

No they do not.

A few months ago they were all laid off.
