Contact him by email. I think he said he will not build any more PS2 portables though. Anyway, that will cost a lot of money. Around $700 - $1000 per portable.

Ben hasn't made any Xbox or Gamecube portables (to my knowledge)... He might if you throw money at him, but there are people on these forums who will make them cheaper.

I myself have made a portable Gamecube, and will make more if someone pays me to.

You're from the UK aren't you?
So am I, it would be cheaper on postage if you wanted one. Plus my name is Benjamin

He's helped to make a portable XBOX before, he made the case then sent it to a guy who did the guts. But he's already said he won't make any more of them.

-PS2
Ben has said there's no way he's going to make another PS2p. They're apparently really tricky.

-Nintendo Gamecube
As of this post he hasn't made any. (At least any he's shown us... :P)

-XBOX
He made the case and shipped it off.

If you custom order a Gamecube portable or Xbox portable, be prepared to spend upwards of a thousand dollars. If you want the PS2 portable he built a couple years ago, tough luck buddy. You'll have to hope it winds up on eBay, since it's the only one. (And was sold a long time ago.)

EDIT: @ benol: :P

Ah, I didn't know about the Xbox case..

Anyway, he's from the UK, so he'll still be paying upwards of $150 to get the portable from USA to UK promptly and in one piece.

He messaged me asking how much to make him a PS2 or Xbox emulator. :?

In regards to a portable, he said he'll get back to me.. I gather he only was expecting to pay like £70 or something for a PS2P.

I've had a couple of people messaging me and only expecting to pay like £70 for any kind of portable, so I wouldn't be surprised..

Why do people think portables are so cheap?

Well if you take into account the backwards compatibility of the 360 and the Wii, he has.

Yeah Ben's portables are not cheap but as the old saying goes "You get what you pay for". Ben's creations are some of the best, the cases are still many of the best and the skill Ben uses is like that of professionals.

And yes when Ben finished the PS2p he said, "Never again!" The PS2p was as he put it his most difficult portable creation to date.

The Wii and the 360 weren't portables though, they were laptops, so even through backwards compatibility, he hasn't made them.

Anyway, if Ben did make them I think it was out of this guys price range, especially since he was more interested in getting a PS2 emulator than a portable PS2 (at least, that's the impression I got since it was the first thing he asked for), Even if Ben made one, there's import problems, PAL / NTSC conflicts. It just probably isn't worth it.

One thing I don't like about Ben's portables though, they're too blocky. He may be good at making portables, but hand crafting a case is a lot harder than machining via PC. Professional is a subjective definition.

He just messaged me...

He wants me to build him a PS2P, sent it to him, and if it's good enough, he'll pay me for it then.

Considering he's only got one post, we can't really trust him, so I'd sooner he pays for the project as it goes, but definitely not after I've sent him the PS2P.

"Send me something worth several hundred dollars, and I'll decide if I want to pay you for it." Yeah, I'd do business with that guy.
