writing PSP UMDs?

is there any way I can burn a UMD? I could take the white case from a Napolean dynamite UMD... My friend wants to get yellow submarine on his PSP.

It's impossible. There is no way that this is possible (although there were adult UMD's being produced unofficially in China and Japan).

Trust me the UMD format IS NOT mini-dvd, or even close to DVD5 or DVD9 format for that matter. UMD's are actually dual layered with a 1.80 GB capacity. If we could copy and/or burn UMD's you would see homebrew possibly being distributed on them.

WAIT how do they put movies on them than? movies are a few gigs.

Just get a big Memory Stick and put the movie on that (I'm assuming thats what yellow submarine is). A converted full-length movie is about 400-800MB, usually 600MB is the max, but I had to include monster movies like Lord of the Rings. Heres a guide. Just remember, only use it on homemade DVDs.

So, I do now (quick peek on Wikipedia).
Just follow that guide, it'll walk you through. You can try experimenting with the resolution and bit rate when you convert it to a PSP usable format in PSP Video 9.

DVD rips encoded in XviD are only about 700mb. And since the PSP screen is smaller than a TV compression is used.
