Tip: DON'T buy this battery.

Post by bioniclebert »

So I go into radioshack to find me a good battery. I look over and see this thing:

The battery in question

On the package of the battery, it reads:
4A 7.4V
So i'm thinking naturally, woah! A nice Li-poly battery! Little did I know that the battery's rating was actually 450 mA. Not even close to the 4A rating on the package.

So anyway, if you're looking for a good battery at the shack, DON'T go with this one.

Whao really? Sure it wasn't put in the wrong package? How did you find out the real MAH rating?

Well I checked just that. I thought I had some kind of mis-labeled unit or something. I checked ebay, all of the auctions listed the battery as what mine was listed as, 4A. When I opened it up, I looked on the battery itself, and it said 450mA on it, and so did the manual.

Did you return it and tell RatShack that they're full of crap?

Battery Average Run Time :: 12 MINUTES
How could you mistake that with 4A? :P

Heh, well having the amperage is mislabeled, how am I supposed to assume that is even correct?

Anyway, as far as the return goes, it's going back pronto. (I like that word, pronto). I ended up getting a nice battery and charger from http://www.batteryspace.com/
