WTB bricked PSP

Post by myersn024 »

I want to try my hand at installing a UP mod chip, but I'm not going to try it on mine since I don't have a spare and I like playing GTA on it too much. Therefore I need a bricked, non ta-082 PSP. I'm looking at several on ebay right now, but I'd be more than happy to get one off somebody here. If you've got one and someone here can vouch for you, I'd probably buy it. Let me know what you've got.

Also, if you've got a bricked PSP and would like a UP mod chip installed on it I'd do it for free just for the experience as long as you provided the PSP and the UP. If I mess it up, I'll buy the brick for a reasonable price (they're selling for between $70 and $80 on ebay).

I don't have one sadly, however, I am warning you, this is one hell of a hard mod. I did try it, and managed to only get one trace down, and know that you absolutely do need a microscope :P (I eventually just gave up, and sold the chip). Not trying to deter you from the project, but just know you got one hell of a soldering job to do! :P

Good luck they are pretty much impossible to do non-professionally, judging from the pics.

Wait for the PSPDEVOLUTION, it is much easier to install.

I've heard that they're a complete and total ass to install, but I've been practicing on some broken video cards and stuff. I know that there's going to be a lot of difference, but even if I wait for the PSPDEVOLUTION I'm going to need a brick. So, the offer still stands....I would like to buy a brick.

Well, I went ahead and bought a damaged PSP off ebay earlier today. All that is supposedly wrong with it is the power switch is broken, which should be easy enough to fix. I also broke out the soldering iron along with an old video card and did some test soldering to see how my skillz were progressing. I took some pics of my work, but I'll post those in a different forum since this isn't the appropriate place.
