Need help with snesp

usbcd36 wrote:Also, Ben said that using the 7805 from the SNES board sometimes causes a SNESp to display nothing but a screen of static (pocket TV). Try buying a new one, it could save you some time. Also, if you're using an LED-modded PSone screen, just power the SNES from the upper 7805 on the screen.
I am using a snes mini with a sharper image co727 tv ( according to casio its a casio ev-670 i emailed them to find out since it says casio on the screen). I have everything wired together except the controller. just trying to test to see if its running. I have the tv and the snes running on its own power. the tv is power by 4AAs and the snesp is powered by 6AAs with a 7805. when i power on both I get static on the screen. I need to check to make sure i grounded the audio/video (pins 5 and 6 on the SNES multi-out) and I was wondering how can I tell the difference between the snes 7805 and the new 7805 I purchased from mouser part #512-KA7805AETU. I'll post pics if need be.

I also need check the fuse and colder solder joints and how this can be done. Is there anything else that I should check.

I used the directions on from the website below under the section wiring the screen since it is the type of screen I used.

This image shows how i had it connected.

I figured out that I was using pin 10(+5 Volts) instead of pin 9(Composite Video) and after fixing that I am still receiving static. So I tried to resolder the av multi out using just pins that were required (pins 5,6,9,11,12) and connecting it to a tv but I get just a black screen.

I really need help.

So the TV and SNES are running off of different power supplies? Thats your problem. The Screen and SNES need a common ground for composite video to work correctly. Without it you will get static.

Connect that AV Ground in that picture to the ground on your screen. It should work then.
