free AVI to MP4 converter??

Does anyone know of a free avi to mpf converter?? I don't care if it's just a trial I just want it to fully convert.

MediaCoder.

(I know I say that for EVERY "convert x to y" thread, but it WORKS and is 100% FREE!)

Use mencoder or FFmPeg. By the sound of it, MediaCoder is a mencoder GUI, as well as FFmPeg.

I second that. MediaCoder is the best free solution to all your media conversion needs. Although if you are willing to pay, I suggest the AoA media converter, it's just great.

A) I suppose Media Coder does nicely Iron out all that unexplained stuff that happens in our day to day lives.
