Makin a 2" by 1" controller

I'm tring to make a tiny NES controller. I went to radioshack and got a 500 pack of resistors, but they didn't have any tact switches. Any suggestions on where I can get a good number from an online order?

I'll get some pics of what I have so far. (It ait to much)

THe heart I will soon use for my controller. I hope I can make it fit!

Sory about the image quality, the stiller I try to be the more I shake (soddering is hell).

If you have a ton of dead electronics stuff, chances are you have a kazillion tacts waiting to be harvested.

I know this thing hhas tacts, but I dont wanna take em out becaue I plan to find a use for it. The nice square hole is beggin for something.

I have a lot of randome things here, but the things I find tacts in I want to use for something and have the buttons funtioning.

they do not sell tact switches.
why did you buy 500 resistors? you only need a couple....

Digikey.com - pretty much the only place you need to go for tact switches.

I figured, I have what 10 resistores of various vaules at home, so I decided, hey, lets make it so I can make almost anything anytime that needs these. Get all the values I could ever need. I plan to buy a good number of tacts too for various random projects.

I got ideas for a basic tilt nes controller and one that automaticly pauses when you let go of it, but that is still a while away. I am also working on a gameport to nes converter, which is a big headach!

I will order some switches tomarrow. Tankyou very much for the help so far.

2079 possable versions on digikey. That confuses me.

A lot on mouser too.

Ok, i'm sorry to be so 'needy', but which one do I use. There are no pictures from what I can tell and the tech information confuses me.

I'm assuming Off-Mom means off when up?

Ya know what, can anyone give me a part number of a specific tact they found easy to use?

That digikey website is worthless unless you know exactly what you want before hand. I ordered some caps to replace the blown out ones on an old motherboard and the things I got were the size of my thumb! Of course I can't return them because I would have to pay $20 shipping and I spent $20 on them to begin with so screw that!

Also your plastic cutouts are real sloppy but it is a good idea!

If it works, i will transfer it to a cleaner case.

If it works well I'll get a board for it to mount on to instead of my orginal plan of glue.

Mouser has got to be the best place to get tact switches. You don't have to buy hundreds to just use a few.
