Being a noob I decided what would be the easiest thing to make a portable out of first. Why of course the Radica Genesis This is where I'll be posting how I'm going.

you have somewhat a lot ahead of you.
Do you have some skills in electronics? all you really need to know is how to solder and stuff. I never worked with a radica before.

I know I have a lot ahead, but it will be fun... hopefully. I've been lurking in the shadows in these forums for over a year so I decided now is as good as any to start making portables. I've already modded consoles, and I'm decent with electronics and soldering.

I haven't built a portable that works yet, truthfully....I attempted, but it doesn't work....

Well good luck. You arn't choosing the easiest console to make portable. For my first one, i'd go with the console that I can find most information on, and seems to be easiest to do.
The ps1 is probably a good choice for a first portable if you go by my rules there, as ben's book covers it, it has a popular forum and there is a lot of info on it.
