Finished

I have finally pretty much finished my project. I need to fix a couple things but I will have pics soon. I have one question. When I get staticky and then touch the metal sides of my case which are connected to the portable it shorts out for a second. Is that normal. I don't know right now but the metal is either - or +.

It's ground.

So you're saying I should make the side +? Or will that cause more problems? Actually right now I put some tape on the metal so I don't actually touch it.

just open it up and make sure theres nothing touching the sides.

make the outside - not +that might fix it

:s I think i'm mising something here. I think the sides are ground. Line the inside with tape.

Yeah the metal edges of boards are usually ground, because everything usually winds up going back to ground regardless of voltage. Just tape up the edge of the board. Wrap it so the edge of the board is in the middle of the tape's sticky side. If you stretch the tape a bit as you apply it, it will wrap around the sides and corners better.
