Well there's slot 1 and slot 2 solutions. Slot one is a ds cart that has built in flash or takes micro sd and is good for pirating games, and not homebrew. The slot two carts aren't really made to much for the fats anymore. But they do mostly everything I think.

I suggest the R4 ( slot one ) and a 1 gig micro sd card. Theres a bundle pack with EVERYTHING ( accept romz ) needed for like 80 bucks.

well if your going to get homebrew. Get the cheapest way. GBAMP, a cf card, cf card read/write usb hardware. And for the slot one, get the Max Media Launcher. That goes around 60 bucks, plus also if you do do this method. Get Chrism's fat lib.

So basicly get the Game boy Advanced movie player- 25 usd

A pass me device like the max media dock - 20 to 30 usd

Compact Flash card- depends

Card reader - 5 to 20 usd

And that will run ( all ? ) homebrew. But no DS roms.

i dont think it will run *all* homebrew, in general you can assume the compatibility of the GBAMP with anything is spotty at best

well you could do that option, but the other option is the Max Media dock (20 - 40$) which also includes a max media player(boot's up the slot-2 device) and get a cf card. Now they sell a 1 gb cf card, the media dock, the max media player, and the usb cable for around 59.99$ Then there's the option on the MMD - max media dock - which allows you to patch a .nds file rom. But it can only be used for MMD. So there's that, but homebrew isn't all that great sometimes on the MMD. On the other hand, I think that GBAMP plays homebrew and roms, but I think the roms have to be patched first.

I'd go with an R4 and a Supercard (or SC Lite for you lite owners, like me) Best combo. You can stay under $200 and get over 4 GB of storage.

Passme? *Throws up*

Isn't that the one that sticks like 2 inches out the back of the DS? If it is, DO NOT get it. Get a Passcard 3 like I did. It's the same size as a DS card!

As for a flashcard, I got an M3 SD, but I wouldn't really recommend it. I got it cheap (aka free) so I really don't care how bad it is!

Supercard SD is a good deal, but they just came out with a slot1 solution. I'd wait a few months, we're in the middle of a huge flash cart shift, from slot 2+Pass to Slot 1 all-in-ones
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

i also have something to add, if you are going to be writing your own programs, use PAlib, it is very useful and more easier than writing in main nds programming oh yeah and super camera man, it does stick out, but when you flash your ds, you won't need any type of passing device, so passme s good for 1 time use in flashme
