That's actually fake. It's impossible to get that far in the game with only 50 of one type of Pikmin.
That last frame to the right with the three digits (050) is the amount of living Pikmin you currently have remaining total, so what he did was get that far in nine days (BIG achievement) and kill off all but 50 of his Pikmin.
Edit: Then again, why would he fake about something so blatantly undo able?
The only possible way to finish the game in under 30 days is to get all of the pieces. You can't just "Lift Off" whenever you want to. I know this 'cause I've played the game more than 10 times through.

If you think it is not possible then watch this It's a movie made by him of it and it's real. I didn't think that it was possible to beat metroid prime in 1:04 (1 hour 4 minutes) but it is possible and so are a bunch of other things that people thought were impossible.
I don't really feel like downloading all of those videos, but I'm guessing he's just moving REALLY fast and he takes full advantage of the Sprout Flowers.
That's a fairly common trick.
Did you say MP in 1:04? That's pretty good. My biggest Metroid accomplishment was getting all of the secret pictures on Metroid Fuzion.
Dude, he's also using a turbo controller.
Edit: After watching the first video, I can see how this dude could do what he claims. I guess that's my goal now... curses!
