Power Problem...

I have a problem with a SNES I got for free. When I hook up power nothing happens. I check voltage and get it at this chip (see pic) but not at the on.off switch. Not sure what's in between. Please Help!!!

To the right a bit near the black/red wires, check the voltages/continuity on each side of the black fuse soldered over the gap in the pcb.

I also checked power on the 7805, none there. Is that my prob? If so where do I get one?

Probably, you can get them of old computer boards and stuff. Or go to radioshack or digikey.com

radioshack is the easiest choice for one. most likely will only cost a couple of bucks.

No change after the new 7805. I am not getting power on the "In" side of the 7805, what is between the resistor and that? Caps?

Wait you checked for voltage? On wich side? Set your multimeter to the lowest ohm rating and meausre both sides. You should see it jump or it may even make a beeping sound. (If you have that option on your multimeter)

The fuse is blown. Jump it.

I get power on both sides of the fuse, but none on the 7805, in or out.

What's between that fuse that sticks off the board and the 7805?

i'm not sure but the voltage rectifier might be.

edit: just try jumping the fuse. Worst case is frying a snes that's already broken.
