I know that on my NTSC snes mini board there is a contact right under the original contact on the backside of the board, and I traced that to spot "R38" the little capacitor underneath the A/V plug.
I connected it to the points were the original rf modulator was. (thanks to triton) But the video was all fuzzy and stuff. Then later it stopped and now I can't get video at all. Any suggestions what might be wrong?
big original snes. Ok I get picture. But it's stil purple like and stuff. I was thinking. Maybe I should add a filtering capacitor? (is this a good idea?)
I wouldn't go into all that. If I were you, I would just trace the original comp. video contact and find an alternate contact. A contact ALWAYS has an alt contact that you can trace to.
The way I did it was is I turned everything on and touched a few of the closest contacts to the original video contact with the Video-in lead/wire from the screen until I got some video feedback. You just have to make sure you know what NOT to touch.
Well i'm getting picture. I'm pretty sure I just need a filtering capacitor or an amp.
edit: traced the problem down to the 7805. Whilst holding it I got almost perfect picture. (altough dark) I think it's overheating. (and while holding it I functio as a heat absorber) Is bolting it down to the ground plane ok? (or will it stil overheat?)
I had this problem on my Megadrive as well and I just connected RGB to the inputs of the video encoder. You could do the same for the SNES, just look up the datasheet of the decoder.
I have full video now. It's a little dark though. Should I amp it? (btw. when I opend the av cable of the nintendo I saw a resistor to ground. (from video.) could this improve it?
