I have recently submitted job applications to Circuit City, PetSmart, Best Buy, and Geoffry's (Toy's R Us). It has been a week, and I haven't heard anything. I haven't actually held a real job before, so I'm pretty nervous...
Ok, so I'm a nervous wreck living off chocolate and entirely unable to sleep at night. I need to start a job; I need to start doing something with my life!
Aside from that, I used to build and sell computers over eBay= fun, but unprofitable. I attended a semester at Appalachian State University, before deciding it wasn't for me. After getting a job, I plan to pursue an Associates degree, or a two-year degree, at the local community college (no university, but still nice place).

Currently at uni (declared major is electrical engineering, not sure which specific field I'm actually aiming for yet though), but my summer time job is at an EE firm. Mostly I do tech stuff, i.e. assembling, testing, and repairing/replacing parts on circuit boards. I had been doing a bit of PCB layout for in-house testing rigs, but they've upgraded to OrCAD (from EAGLE), so there will be a bit of a learning curve before I can do that again

ALRIGHT! electricals engineers rule! welcome to the club (and so we don't go through this again, I'm not an electrical engineer, but I want to be.) it's just that many people here are EEs.....are they?

Not really, most of the stuff here requires only basic EE skills to the point where much of it is barely considered electrical engineering in a traditional sense. Instead, it's a lot more like hooking your dvd player to your tv and plugging it in... you just have to solder the wires instead.

Huh.....never thought of it that way....in a way.....you're right.....BUT portable building is better....everyone knows that....except me....It's fun, but it doesn't work. maybe the ps1 project will..... what about soldering power regulators and bios chips? wouldn't that be above what you described?

SAY ALLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!!!i finally used google!!I'm gonna go for Bachelor or Master in electronics (either ICT or hardware, not sure yet). The only source of income I have now is my allowance, 10€ a week. But it has been suspended for 10 weeks so now I'm tottaly broke. In the summer I go wash dishes or help in a kitchen. It's good money but you gotta work real hard.

I'm on my way to getting my Masters in ECE. I focus mainly on analog and power electronics stuff. But as of right now I work for a small company doing embedded systems programming and PCB design for the products they develop. It's kind of opposite what I really want to do (the analog stuff) but hey...it gets me decent money
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

work at a church rectory answer the door/phone and I can do what ever I want as long as there aren't papers to deal with, sometimes I play GTA
. I even get payed below minimum wage, $4.50/hr.
buy systems to fix/clean and sell to them to suckers online... I mean smart people.
when I get my license I may have a mowing/snow plowing company with my dads 76 Dodge.
I worked my ass off this summer cleaning my aunts house and got payed for it. So I can pay for driver school, insuance and gas.
Othere that that I sit in front of a screen.
