Wow, the parts of the N64 motherboard sure are well-labeled!

So you know if you get a LDO for the 3.3v lines (there are two) you'll need to make sure that they're either both about 1.5amps or one is about 2.5amps. Yeah I know it takes a lot of currect to run that little monster.

I thought there were two, I'm rather sure as what I said about the AC adapter, those two lines dont cross. And why would there be more ground lines then input.gannon wrote:There's only one 3.3V line on the n64, and it only uses 1.5A

Eh, I'm not even totally sure. I think it's a percentage of retail price. I probably shouldn't talk of such things, so forget I said it!
Another thing - is the D-pad and left shoulder button of a N64 controller even required? Seems like they NEVER were used... and it'd be a lot easier for the design to omit them (left should button could become Z)
Granted my N64 game variety was limited so I'm posing the question to you people.

I think that all the wrestling games need them, and let's not forget about cheats in some games that use them.benheckc wrote:Another thing - is the D-pad and left shoulder button of a N64 controller even required? I used a 1 amp 3v converter on my N64p and it worked perfect, no problems. But it would probably be a good idea to get the 1.5 amp regulator just in case the amperage spikes.
As for the D-pad and Left button, the L button is used every now and then for things like changing camera views in Rush 2049 and I think its the special power button in Smash Bros., and the D-pad is used for some Mortal Kombat games and a few other dumb games I dont even remember the names of. The D-pad is kinda like the one on dreamcast, hardly ever used but some games only let you use the D-pad.

Kirby is the one game where I really used those.benheckc wrote:Eh, I'm not even totally sure. I think it's a percentage of retail price. I probably shouldn't talk of such things, so forget I said it!
