And theeennnn. Portable + what = cool?
My latest NESP (The NESPiMP) has it's own media player built in. Now I've got this bug about what other feaures we can add to our portables of any kind... Radio, TV, what? Aside from flash dumps, what else can we add to our little cases?

I think a tv would be cool. Just use a portable tv for the screen, but there would have to be a way to connect and disconnect the av cable to get tv reception.
Last night I was thinking about doing that while I was LED-modding my pocket tv.
I just thought it would be cool to be able to watch tv on a portable...

Portable + ice = cool.
*crickets*
A radio or TV tuner would be a good thing to have. (You can get scanner FM radios for a buck, and some portables use pocket TVs anyways...
Are there any homebrew MP3 player kits that can output analog video?

The media player he spoke of can already play MP3s. Something else, then.
Edit: Here's something I've been considering working into a portable. Basically, the receiver for a wireless pinhole camera. I've got one that runs off 12v but haven't tested it with less yet. Should be interesting though. The camera itself can be run off a 9v battery. Now, if there were a cheap & compact solution to record the video, I'd be set. But as it is now, everything is too expensive unless you go with tape-based media, which of course I don't.
