Hello all,
First post however I have been a recent reader to the forums.
I am thinking about building some sort of portable NES using the NOAC - however I have no real experience.
I read somewhere on here that the NOAC is a good starting place as it's fairly simple - are there any tutorials / books / site's you can recommend to get me on my way to the whole terminology / soldering etc...
Thanks in advance
Mark.

Closest thing you'll find to a guide or tutorial is Ben's making-of on his NOAC NESp.
Really there isn't much to making an NOAC a portable NES. With the fact that people sell NES > Famicom adapters it makes them much easier. All NOAC run on 5v DC, so 4 AA batteries are enough. The controller leaves you with two options, one is to use the controller that the system came with or you can replace it with an original NES controller. Screen, I would suggest a Hip Gear Screen, but those are rare, same goes for the PSone screen, so look around or do what Ben's done most of the time and use a portable TV.

Or you could be retarded like every other average joe and try to make an n64p! I however, have learned that a noac is best for practicing portable making on. Definatly reccomend a PSOne screen, as there is a large helping group.
