PS2 controller raw signals

I've seen various "Use your PS2 controller on X console" converters kicking around like this:

Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to make one? I'm interested in taking the PS2 controller input and having it output raw signals for a point to point mod.

Hmm, I appear to have double posted - Could a mod get rid of the other post?

The Multigame site has a PS2 to Vectrex mod that uses a home made adapter:

Not only is it beautifully made but it would serve my purposes exceedingly well, problem is they are no longer made.

Any schematics/part lists kicking around with the requisite info?
