Your ultimate gaming room?
What would yours be like? I'll post mine later. Like, after I have a picture.

A cavernous structure, one wall of which has six 200" images from six seperate Hi-Res projectors arranged as one massive widescreen picture. The projector-screen can be furrled(sp?) up so as to reveal the even larger LED (yes LED, like that huge one in Vegas) screen, this is for watching things that don't need to be displayed in Hi-Res, like TV shows or Betmax tapes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (saves projector lamps
). Not sure what the sound would be like exactly (would be tailored to the room of course), other than big. Might have a set of custom dynamic cans commisioned instead of a speaker system. And of course the all important platform in the middle of the room with the mini elevator, that places my lazyboy at the perfect viwing angle for the screen, and has all the inputs I'd ever need for attatching consoles and other A/V stuff (second platform would rise out of the floor for multiplayer) . Oh and of course a 100 towers with 5 Imation Disc Stakkas (50,000 discs total) and a computer to select the game I want (carts would be stored on regular shelves, but wuth a custom built LED system so when I searched for a game it's LED would light up).
I'll spare you the details of the food-service system...

There's a room next to my bedroom that I would like to turn into a game room. I originally had it set up with our old TV, but when my mom got angry, she gave the TV away and added some shelves, destroying the possibility of having it work the same way.
What I want to do is move my old computers to the other side of the room and build a KVM switch to save space. I'd like to have a projector of some sort pointed either at the blank wall, or at the angled wall/ceiling that the roof creates.

I think I'd need a large building (gym/hanger/etc) and on the floor or this structure I'd place a giant-scale version of the 'Elvira and the Party Monsters' pinball table.
I'm not exactly sure how much power it takes to run a flipper that knocks 4' diameter steel balls around, but I'd imagine it wouldn't come cheap.
I may even get it a giant hamster ball and throw elvira into it... "don't worry, I saw sonic do this like a million times"

I've actually got plans and everything for my room
just saving for a house to put it in.
Ok i've got a projector for gaming on the wall and also for hige Wii games
I've got a upright Arcade cab running mame and a cocktail cab running mame.
I've also got a driving cab hooked up to the game systems and PC
I've then got a can vending machine for Jim Beam and also have an automated bar aswell
I'd have a big leather lounge for comfort when playing and will have things on the wall like old pinball playfields and posters.
I'll also have a seperate room just for movie like a cinema will have 4 leather chairs that recline back that sit on a raised floor which has some led lights built intot he side to give it the cinema feel also have popcorn machine and slurpee machine on the back wall where the projector is and a full surround sound.

Actually, I figured since the signal already has to be electronically divided it could be electronically centered too, there would be extra space around the edges that could be used to disply other information (like winamp or something if I wanted to listen to music while gaming) or only 4 of the screens would be used for the game and the other two would display a webpage or a TV program (I like to watch tv while playing video games or check an Ebay listing), kind of a picture in picture system.vskid wrote:Wouldn't four projectors be better? My ultimate game room would just be a comfortable place with a kick ass media center.
I'd have a high-def projector projecting on a wall and a big, powerful, surround sound tube stereo. I'd have a bunch of videogame systems and a mame computer with an X360 controller because you just can't beat a surround sound wall with an arcade cab.
I'd also have shag carpet and a rediculously puffy as hell couch.
