My prediction:
Microsoft: On the heels om their somewhat successful X360, MS plans to get an edge on the market by using slightly dated hardware in a compact shell and a cheeper price (nintendo wii to a lesser degree). Name? X-III.
Sony: After only 3 and a half years Sony decides their PS3 was too far behind its competitors, not in tech but in a good offering to the public. As a result Sony pours millions of dollars into a massive world wide media blitz for the new sensation: PS4.
Nintendo: Walking away with a very close and unlikely first place, Nintendo once again sets its eyes on the masses for the delayed launch of the soon to be losing Nintendo World. Crowded with sub-par graphicly inferior games Nintendo is forced into 4th Place.
Sega: After an almost decade long absence from the American market Sega launches an advertising campain for a new console: Pheonix. The console wisely launches second to the PS4, with competing technology resulting in ports of PS4 games that are more polished, competes with Sony for Next-gen lead.
The War: Microsoft leads for a brief time before being overtaken by Sega's mass of diehard fans and newcomers. Meanwhile Nintendo is losing steam after a lukewarm responce to its World console. with a firy blaze they plumitt into 4th place with a ten percent market share. Sony begins to take on Microsoft for second place with advertising and huge development contracts, but Sony quickly realises that their miniscule budget cannot compete with microsoft's endless funds. Microsoft not only surpasses Sony in sales but overtakes Sega in america after their second holiday season.
The Aftermath:
America- XIII (35%) Pheonix (32%) PS4 (23%) NW (10%)
Japan- Pheonix (37%) XIII (30%) PS4 (21%) NW (12%)
Europe- XIII (33%) Pheonix (33%) NW (18%) PS4 (16%)

Microsoft will make the Xbox 720, which will have a big emphasis on being a home entertainment system and interaction with whatever comes after windows vista. It will cost $700. Xbox live will be raised to $80 a year. It'll be the best selling console once again, and most of the 3rd party developers (including nintendo) will make games for both it and the ps4.
After the PS3's moderate success, the PS4 will be made with 4 PPC cores and 10 SPUs, all clocked at 6ghz. It will have 1.5gb each of video ram and system ram, and will once again run linux without access to the GPU. It'll sell for $900 and people will still complain about it, then buy a 720 and pay $400 paying for xbox live over the next 5 years.
Nintendo will find itself unable to sell any more wiis a year from now because all of their fans already have one, and it won't have any more 3rd party support. They will of course go on to make another DS, and will start developing games for other consoles.
Apple will make the iGame, with will sport an amazing 200mhz arm processer and 32mb of ram, costing a mere $3000. Then people will finally become fed up with apple's upsurdly overpriced products and steve jobs will be lynched by an angry mob. Then his son will take over the company and stop the company from making anything but ipods, because that's the only thing they can sell.
