green bar

I have recently bought new TV and noticed something very strange

Whenever, I turn on my SNES there is a green colum that appears on the black background

Now it disappears during gameplay but it is there whenever there is a blank background... ie lets tk chrono Trigger for example

Whenever the thing boots up, the pendulem will pop up and the shadow of the pendelum will cover the green line in that spot...

Anyone know what the deal is?

I can live with it...cuz it goes away when I play most of my games (haven't tested them all, but it goes with the ones I tested)

My guess would be a dirty cart connector, try giving that a clean(or even the cartridge itself).

thatain't it since it isn't there all the time it is kinda like it is there in the backgroun all the time and I mean the chrono trigger pendelum has its shadow cast over the green bar and it is pretty well defined I'll see if I can get a pic...

i have a dimilar problem when i play anyconsole at my dads there are 3 lines at the top red green and blue and theyre only visible if there is a black background but its probably jjust because his tv sucks

anyone think using s-video or rgb would fix this?

I normally hate reviving old topics but I fixed this problem!

Aparantly it has something to do with the SNES and Composite video, on anyother TV I never had this problem but some reason my new TV hated the SNES composite video,

Anyway to fix this I simply modded my SNES for S-video (since I do not have a cable for the nintendo systems) and Presto! it removes the green bar!

Thought someone whould like to know this so they too could play the SNES on their more modern TV
